Reminder: this forum is about the game called Banished, for which a mod alllows pixel-characters to grow pixel-canabis. 
We're certainly not experts on how to use canabis for pain relief in Real Life, or the laws about growing cannabis in different countries (or even in different states within one country). Common sense would say: check your country's laws and check if they make a difference between various species, and have a talk with your doctor (depending on how open-minded they are).
