Papayas are round or pear-shaped fruits that average about 7 inches. The weigh about one pound. Their flesh is a rich orange color and is sweet with a soft, butter-like consistency. Papayas were reputably called the “fruit of the angels” by Christopher Columbus.




Papayas can be obtained from merchants.
