Stone is one of the basic building materials in Banished. It is required to construct many homes, production buildings, some bridges and tunnels. Roads built of Stone are faster than dirt roads.
Every map has surface stones that can be gathered by Laborers. Stone is also produced by Quarries or a Stone and Salt Mine.
The Stonecutter uses stone to carve Stone Statues and the Building Supplier can use Stone with other items to make Building Supplies.
