Edit: A little clarification on why it was necessary to change the site software. Our old software was old, and out of date - with no updates available to us. It was becoming unstable and insecure. It wasn't compromised in any way but I didn't want to log on one day to find it had been. It had bugs that needed fixing, with no guarantees they wouldn't break again.
