By default, Steam stores Banished Save files on your C: Drive under Documents > Banished. Some people change that so their C: drive doesn't have game files on it.

I’ve got a bug and since I’m so not tech savvy (as evidenced by the need for help in finding my Windata file.... ?) I don’t know how these things work... if it’s just a bug in my gameplay or not... anyway, I’ve got two Fleur De Lis and two Tools and Natural Resources buttons on the menu... when I click on them, they freeze my game and I have to restart my computer to get out of it. Can’t take a screen shot, but I took a pic (don’t judge, ?). 




Also, the MM8 mods don’t stay selected from each time I play to the next. I have to go back into my Mods and select and deselect. It’s saving CC1.7. Is it something I haven’t done right or another bug?

I started a new game and to test the crops not properly maturing or showing at all...here are the results:




Town settings: see image below




mods: MM8 RC5 only (removed all other mods)




speed: 10x




Immediately upon starting new game (early spring), i planted pumpkins and potatoes on 19x6 field each. Early Autumn, farmers started harvesting:




As you can see on the image, the pumpkin didn't even appear and the potatoes.

More test results: same saved game but on 9x9 fields. 

The quality improved, you could see tiny pumpkins this time and spinach seems to mature fully. The tomato was harvested early summer.  The other 3 crops were harvested early autumn.

3rd test:




tried on 5x5 fields -- same results. cabbage, potato, and pumpkin fields remained empty at harvest. 




Am I planting these crops on wrong season? i planted them winter but work didnt start until early spring so I figured it didnt matter when. There are no other work to be had just farming. I've been playing this game on and off for awhile and I remember planting pumpkin on larger fields on 10x speed without any issues. I'm curious if anyone else is having the same issue. maybe its my video settings? I'm going to try uninstalling the game.

Not all crops grow well in very warm or very cold climates.  You are using a Tropical Climate which gets quite warm - up to 100F. Pumpkins and Potatoes both only do well until about 80/85F which explains why the crops aren't growing as well. This temperature chart should help you TEMPERATURE CHART




Also, some crops take a while to mature. When you run your town on 10X, you may not be giving them time to show their growth.

Tamras, try the Marine climate.  It does get below freezing, but not much, and not long.  And it doesn't get extremely hot either. 




 




Also, pumpkins, squash, & potatoes take a long time.  In a short growing season, you're pretty much screwed with those crops.  And finally, try reducing to a single farmer per field, but turning off pickup. Here's why: once the food is harvested, it can sit on the field in baskets for a long time without deteriorating, and if the farmers don't have to carry the food to storage themselves, they'll get it harvested much more quickly.

I have this exact bug, except my menu also shows an RK item that also crashes. I suspect the reason the MM8 don't stay selected is that the settings don't save due to the crash? I do remember getting this bug a few versions ago, maybe 6? I believe the compatibility patch fixed this but I could be wrong.

I just wanted to follow up on my previous post. I deleted some files and the duplicate menu is gone, it seems to be running smooth. Here's what I did:




1. Disabled and deleted all other mods besides the 3 MM8 mod parts




2. Deleted all saves except autosav




3. Changed to Divx 11




Game loads quicker now and like I said, no duplicate menu icons and seems more stable, no crash so far. I'll report back if I see any issues. As always, great job guys! Vanilla was great but <abbr title="Colonial Charter">CC</abbr> made it exponentially so!

Curiosity here but are there suppose to be two different types of oats?


one has a tall basket for an icon and the other seems to be more of a thrashing bowl for an icon. I'd like to make some oat flour... my Bannies enjoy scones.

I don't know if it's because of some update or something, but it randomly crashes 5-10 minutes in the game.
