Poly count? - MackGideon - 01-05-2017 So I've been experimenting with modelling (first in blender, now in SketchUp because it's so much faster. Here's a sample of the towers I'm building, with inspiration taken from Age of Empires 2 (my old favourite) (http://imgur.com/a/mics4). In the front is the semi-completed set, with three different tower heights, a doorway unit on the left, and a staircase-elevated doorway on the right.
Poly count? - ShockPuppet - 01-05-2017 Very nice! 1. As low as you can to do what you need. A few hundred, a few thousand, it depends. For towers, depending on how far you want to detail it really. 2. Again, depends. A detailed tower going to have bigger texture than an empty cart for example. Vanilla banished uses 1024x1024 texture atlas for buildings. I would not advise ever going bigger than that. If you're going to use multi material meshes, 256x256 would be the smallest I guess, depends on the level of detail you want. Poly count? - Necora - 01-05-2017 Cool towers!
