I said this wouldn't be to everyone's taste. But people do and the fact that they keep doing it seems to suggest that bugs aren't so bad.

Same for me, thanks for saying so but design wise, it might be easier and more realistic to make it a wild food you gather, I saw somewhere more that a billion people eat these things. The farm concept is a bit too modern if you ask me. You could also have a shop that makes them into luxuries, a good use for chocolate.

It's not that modern actually. You don't need much resources or space to farm insects. Just water, food, and something for them to live in. What do you think an apiary is?

Gathering wild bugs is a pretty cool idea as well. I don't know if there is a practical limit on how many foods the trees can spawn.

New Structure: Bug Delicatessen

Getting hungry while shopping the market, why not stop by your local bug delicatessen for a crunchy, or not so crunchy treat. Now dipped in your choice of honey, or chocolate.

You could add a duplicate model of the silk worm farm (so an insect farm and a silk worm farm but they look the same) so that there was either a drop down or it created random types of insects (like the apiary produces honey or beeswax). The latter method would also open up possibilities like ink (luxury), medicines, etc.

OR, you could make another tiny building like the coop in the dock building set that raised bugs. Another good protein source other than clams and fish? Maybe both a land and a water option? /emoticons/wink@2x.png 2x" title=";)" width="20" />

For real? I could not settle down when seeing an insect, not even eating it. I would really like to tell you about the only thing I have come across in my life. We have got some problems with termites at the back of our yard. I was so eager to find the solution for it. What I found was the site that has helped me to get out of them. And also there I was informed that sulfuryl fluoride is dubbed a central nervous system depressant according to the National Pesticide Information Center. This makes it highly toxic to humans, plant life, and animals when directly exposed. Of course much more precise information you can view using the link here, and I really advise you do this, maybe you will change your opinion on something.
